Thailand Property Awards reveal nominee shortlist

The shortlist of nominees for the 2011 Thanachart Bank Thailand Property Awards was announced earlier this week by organizer Ensign Media.

The awards were originally scheduled for Nov. 5 but were postponed to Dec. 6 due to flooding. They will take place at the Grand Hyatt Erawan on Ratchadamri Road in Bangkok.

“With widespread flooding in and around Bangkok and some disruption to the supply chain of food, water and other essentials, a temporary postponement of the awards is the best solution,” said Terry Blackburn, CEO of Ensign Media.

Over 1,350 developers, developments, property agents, architects, and real estate firms were nominated by the public and industry members for the awards. The 31 categories include Best Developer and Best Villa Development and regions covered include Bangkok, the Eastern Seaboard, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, Samui, and Phuket. Notable names up for best developer include Raimon Land and Minor International, while those up for best luxury condo development in Bangkok include the River and the St. Regis.

“The shortlist showcases the high level of quality on offer in Thailand’s real estate, construction, architectural and interior design sectors as well as the professional services available. The objective has always been to celebrate the best of Thai real estate and this year’s shortlist confirms Thailand’s place amongst the best in the world in terms of innovation, quality and aesthetics,” said Blackburn.
