Apparently this is the week for Thailand to assert its dominance in obscure competitions. In addition to gunning for supremacy in the category of “world’s longest kiss,” ambitious Thais have also attained the world record for mass hula hooping.
According to the Nation, more than 4,400 hula hoopers (hula hoopists?) plied their trade in tandem at Thammasat University’s stadium earlier this week.
After the full crowd had completed seven minutes of hula hooping, a representative from the Guiness Book of World Records conceded that Thailand had reclaimed the title of world’s largest mass hula hooping, previously held by Taiwan.
