Thailand govt. agency says Facebook is causing teen pregnancies

Thailand’s National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) recently said that Facebook is partly causing unwanted teen pregnancies, as youngsters are posting salacious messages and video clips online.

We always considered unprotected sex as the cause of teen pregnancies, but hey, what do we know.

NESDB says that the age group of 18-24 is the biggest group of users of the social networking site at 40% and that mothers under 20 years of age accounted for 14% of all babies in 2009 and 2010.

UNICEF recently placed Thailand on top of the teen pregnancy list in Asia.
