Thailand expecting more than 100,000 tourists for Chinese New Year

Piyaman Techapaiboon, president of the Tourism Council of Thailand, said that the Kingdom should expect more than 100,000 visitors from China and Hong Kong during the Chinese New Year in February.

In an interview with the Bangkok Post, Paiyaman urged the Thai government to assign more immigration personnel to airports during the holiday in order to prevent delays. She also urged the government to work to assuage tourists’ fears about safety, particularly in relation to fireworks.
