The Bangkok Post is reporting that a group of 20 Thai primary students have made a fantastic showing at the 11th International Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition in Taiwan.
The Thai students, who ranged in grade level from kindergarten to secondary school, took 31 awards in all.
That feat appears all the more impressive when considered in light of the fact that upwards of 1,000 students from 10 countries took part in the competition. Amongst those in the running were students from the US, Japan, Singapore, Canada and Hong Kong.
