Former drug kingpin Naw Kham probably isn’t sweating this latest round of asset seizures, seeing as he’s been sentenced to death in China, but still, it’s got to sting knowing that you have to enter the next world without all your coolest stuff in tow.
The Bangkok Post reports that on Tuesday, Thai police launched an extensive series of raids, capturing, among other things, Naw Kham’s San Sai district house, cars, gold jewelry and cash—loot worth some THB25 million in total.
The asset seizures came as part of a larger law enforcement sweep that captured drugs and drug cultivation facilities throughout Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai provinces.
Among the materials seized were 500,000 speed pills, heroine and a sizable opium plantation.
In addition to Naw Kham’s THB25 million, police also seized THB7 million from 107 different drug suspects.
