Thai police in Malaysia to take custody of Valentine’s Day bomber

Thai police investigators and public prosecutors have been sent to Malaysia to take custody of Valentine’s Day bombing suspect Masoud Sedaghatzadeh.

The Iranian national faces prosecution over the explosions on Sukhumvit Soi 71 in Bangkok on Feb. 14.

Bangkok Metropolitan Police deputy commander Pol Maj Gen Anuchai Lekbumrung said Malaysian authorities requested more documents related to the bombings and investigation, which police will forward soon.

Anuchai said that Malaysian authorities had been cooperating well with Thai police and he didn’t see any complications with Sedaghatzadeh’s case, The Nation reported.

Sedaghatzadeh escaped to Malaysia after the Bangkok bombings but was arrested at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
