The Bangkok Post is reporting that 19-year-old Warawut Phetchai first murdered, then tried to burn his lover in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district early Sunday morning.
The victim, 40-year-old Pataraporn Prueksasri, was found in her Thanommit Park Condominium on Watcharapol Road with singed towels and newspapers wrapped about her torso.
Arsenic, toilet cleaning liquid and two bottles of beer were found next to the body.
Once apprehended, Warawut admitted to having strangled Pataraporn in a fit of jealousy. He had then tried to burn her body, in an apparent effort to conceal the evidence.
