A taxi driver in Pathum Thani yesterday rescued a frantic 10-year-old girl running from a motorcycle taxi driver who was attempting to molest her.
The suspect, 36-year-old Yuan Hongsa, was later arrested and charged with attempted molestation and separating a minor from their parents, The Nation reported.
The girl’s mother had hired the alleged molester to regularly pick the youngster up from school. The girl later told police that “Yuan touched her under her skirt at knifepoint and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it.”
Taxi driver Narinee Thaothep said she saw the girl running from a petrol station on Pathum Rangsit road crying for help when Yuan appeared, running after her. The girl jumped into the taxi and Ms. Narinee locked the door “just in time.” Ms. Narinee later called police who arrested Yuan at the scene.
