4.7 million passengers passed through Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport through it during March, Airports Council International (ACI) reported recently. The top five airports in Asia-Pacific in no particular order for the month were Bangkok, Dubai, Jakarta, Tokyo (Haneda) and Beijing.
Japanese airports showed the biggest improvement after the earthquake a year ago. Narita increased 30.3 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y), with Haneda up 28.8 per cent and Osaka Kansai up 20.3 per cent.
Asia Pacific airports as a whole increased 10.8 per cent y-o-y.
The top five airports for air freight traffic was the same as February: Hong Kong, Shanghai Pudong, Seoul Incheon, Tokyo Narita and Dubai.
Asia Pacific airports recorded -1.9 per cent y-o-y for air freight traffic according to The Bangkok Post.
Hong Kong handled over 368,000 tonnes of cargo in March.
