According to a poll conducted by Bangkok University Research Center, 60% of Bangkokians believe that freshly appointed governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra will be able to follow through on his policy initiatives.
This comes as surprising news, given both Sukhumbhand’s track record and the somewhat extravagant nature of his campaign claims.
However, 60% of the poll’s 1,152 respondents thought that Sukhumbhand could successfully execute his green capital project, was well as an initiative to turn Bangkok into a learning center.
Respondents were charier when it came to Sukhumbhand’s transportation plans, with roughly 40% professing faith in his ability to enact fare reductions for the BTS and Bangkok bus systems.
MCOT reported that when asked if they thought Sukhumbhand’s tenure would improve Bangkok, 60% of respondents said that they thought it would.
