His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, better known as the Sultan of Brunei, arrived in Bangkok on June 29 for an official visit to Thailand.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, along with Cabinet ministers, senior civil servants and all international ambassadors to Thailand welcomed the Sultan in a ceremony at Government House on Saturday.
The Sultan – who is Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and Finance Minister of Brunei – was invited to visit Thailand by Yingluck during a trip she made to Brunei last December.
He has been ranked by Forbes as one the richest people in the world for years and is known for his extravagant lifestyle and world-famous collection of expensive cars.
The Sultan of Brunei is scheduled to leave Bangkok today.
