If the results of Sunday’s election don’t turn out in his favor, gubernatorial candidate MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra says he will take a break from politics.
Though the Democrat candidate said that he would remain active in his party, he did not announce plans to seek any other public office.
Opinion polls have consistently placed Sukhumbhand behind his strongest rival – the Pheu Thai Party’s Pongsapat Pongcharoen – in the lead-up to the election.
According to the Bangkok Post, Sukhumbhand will focus on attracting a broad base of voters in the final days of the gubernatorial campaign.
