Thailand’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department chief Chalerm Promlert has warned 31 provinces to be prepared for strong summer thunderstorms from today until Thursday.
The 31 provinces are: Saraburi, Lop Buri, Chainat, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Nakhon Ratchasima, Surin, Buri Ram, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Kalasin, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Bung Kan, Mukdahan, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen, Si Sa Ket, Yasothon, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
Bangkok is not on the list, but as Chachoengsao province borders the capital we’re guessing that there’s a good chance we’ll see some storms here as well.
Chalerm said that rain, gusty winds and hailstorms could endanger lives and damage property, the Bangkok Post reported.
