Many Bangkok citizens are stressed-out wrecks due to worries over floods, traffic, and rising commodity prices and costs of living, a recent survey from Bangkok University found.
The 1,474-person poll found that 28.6% of Bangkokians were stressed over rising commodity prices and cost of living, 15% fretted over floods, and 12% were on edge about the city’s notorious traffic.
The varsity research center at the university released the results on the eve of World Mental Health Day, which is today.
In terms of confiding in others for relief from the stress of Bangkok living, the study found that 60% turn to their family, 20% turn to their peers, and 10% to their “soul mates,” MCOT reported.
Favorite tension-relieving activities included watching TV or listening to the radio (98%), watching movies and eating out (88%), and physical workouts (84.5%).
