The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has warned Don Mueang, Lak Si, Bang Plad, Sai Mai, Thawi Wattana, and Taling Chan to evacuate as northern runoff approaches the six districts today Oct. 31.
The mass of water from the north reached Lak Si intersection on Vibhavadi Road and is nearing the Bang Khen roundabout on Phahonyothin Road, according to MCOT. Floodwater from Klong Prem Pachakorn and Klong Prapa has inundated areas around Chaeng Wattana Road as well.
Seven more districts – Bang Khen, Lad Prao, Wang Thongland, Khan na Yao, Nong Chok, Min Buri, and Lat Krabang – have been told to monitor the incoming runoff.
But Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra today reiterated that she does not think floods will reach inner Bangkok.
