A shuttle boat conductor drowned in Bangkok’s Saen Saeb canal at the Vijitrawittaya School pier yesterday night.
At 9:30PM on Dec. 24, officers from the Makkasan Police Station were called to express boat No. 62 running from the Pratunam pier to the Wat Sriboonreung pier. Divers spent about an hour searching in the polluted canal before pulling ashore the dead body of 30-year-old Kamolphan Pha-utrat.
Pirat Boondum, the manager of shuttle boat operator Family Transport, told Dailynews that Kamolphan tripped and fell from the boat’s side after the vessel had traveled roughly 20 meters from the pier. The victim’s head hit the boat and she drowned while unconscious.
