A man convicted of repeatedly raping one of his employees between April and August of 2008 was sentenced to 50 years in prison by the Criminal Court two days ago.
On top of the heinous crimes themselves, Surachai Thanachart, 37, made audio recordings of his sexual misdeeds. He is also being convicted of threatening his victim with a gun in order to coerce her. The audio recordings between Mr. Surachai and his victim were used against him during the court proceedings.
The man’s wife, Thanawan Udommeechai, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for acting as an accomplice. As reported by the Nation, Mr. Surachai has already spent time in prison from a prior conviction.
