Passengers who are over 60 years old will be allowed to travel with the Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT) system for free during the Songkran Festival between April 13 and 15.
The Bangkok Metro Public Company Limited (BMCL), operator of the MRT, said that interested senior passengers only needed to show their identification cards to station clerks in order to get free passes.
The BMCL will also set up Buddha statues at nine of its stations between 9am to 7pm between April 10 and 15, allowing Buddhists to sprinkle water onto the images as part of their religious observances during the New Year celebration.
