Local police have stepped up security at the US Embassy in Bangkok in the wake of the killing of the US Ambassador to Libya and attacks on embassies in Egypt and Yemen.
Pol Maj-Gen Parinya Chansuriya, deputy metropolitan police chief, said that car and foot patrols were increasing around the embassy on Wireless Road in downtown Bangkok, the Bangkok Post reported.
He said that Metropolitan Police Bureau was coordinating with the Special Branch to gather any intelligence on potential terrorist attacks, but added that the situation was normal.
