Samut Prakan man claims wife eaten by crocodiles

A Samut Prakan man has filed a police report saying that he thinks his wife has been eaten by a crocodile at one of the province’s many reptile farms.

The woman, who was reportedly depressed and in debt, may have committed suicide by jumping into a crocodile pit.

Sanei Jitsathra, 55, said his wife Tiwaphan Jitsathra, 36, has been missing since Aug. 24, when she said she would visit a doctor and then stop by a crocodile farm.

A member of the search team that went to look for her worked at a crocodile farm and said that he had heard a woman had fallen into a croc pit earlier that day.

When police went to investigate the crocodile farm, employees denied that anything of the sort had happened… but police found footage of her at the farm’s entrance on surveillance cameras.

Sanei said that he was contacted a few days later by a representative from the farm, reportedly to work out a settlement.

He said that he wasn’t interested in money but only wanted to know if his wife was dead so he could perform funeral rights.

Sanei said he was not shocked by the possible incident, as his wife had long been depressed and had problems with money. He said that she may have committed suicide and that all he wanted to know was her fate, but that he would not press charges against the farm.

Police are still investigating, the Bangkok Post reported.
