A motorcycle cab driver suspected of raping and murdering a woman in the Bang Kapi district was forced yesterday by police to attend the victim’s funeral and apologize to her family.
According to the Nation, Suthee Boonphrom, 23, committed the assault on Feb. 4 at a location not too far from the residence of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. Police in Phetchabun province later arrested Suthee, and subsequently brought him to the funeral.
In a statement related to the event, Yingluck called for better lighting in high-risk areas of Bangkok.
