Ramkhamhaeng parking lot assault suspect surrenders, refuses to talk

Yesterday at 11:30pm, Panjaphol Tuenphakdi, 23, who was wanted on an arrest warrant, arrived at the Hua Mark police station to hear charges related to the brutal assault of Thawichart Soimas, a 53-year-old security guard at Ramkhamhaeng University.

As reported by Coconuts Bangkok, the photo of badly injured Thawichart surfaced online seeming to show that a group of Ramkhamhaeng students had attacked him over a parking spot. During two hours of interrogation, Panjaphol – owner of the Chevrolet sedan that sparked the incident and a third-year Business Administration undergraduate at Ramkhamhaeng University – refused to give police a statement. He insisted to only testify in court.

Hua Mark police said that Panjaphol was being held at the station and bail was refused. According to Komchadluek, Thawichart remains hospitalized with body bruises, head injuries and a broken right leg.
