A statement yesterday from Police deputy spokesman Anucha Romyanan urged Thai women to stay on the lookout for African drug traffickers who, according to the police, could be using romantic relationships as a front via which to recruit the women into service as drug mules.
The Nation reports that Anucha’s announcement comes on the heels of a Foreign Affairs Ministry study, which found that 109 Thai women had been caught drug smuggling overseas within the past year.
