Police to use 3G security cameras in residential surveillance program

The Royal Thai Police have announced a plan to install 3G security cameras in the areas surrounding 88 police stations across Bangkok.

Deputy Police Chief Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen announced in a press conference today that police have utilized the cutting-edge technology in a residential surveillance program. The 3G network would help facilitate police operation to ensure that people’s residences were safe when owners were absent.

“I would like to encourage anyone who are leaving Bangkok for other provinces during the New Year holidays to join the police’s program,” said Pongsapat.

Pongsapat told Posttoday that approximately 7,000-8,000 households would participate in the program and he promised that their belongings would be very well taken care of.
