The Metropolitan Police announced today that security would be beefed up on Jan. 12, Thailand’s Children’s Day, in one dozen important areas across Bangkok.
Pol Lt Gen Adul Narongsak, a deputy metropolitan police chief, said that activities for kids would be organized in 187 spots. The activities will be in areas surrounding the Bureau of the Royal Household, the Government House, the Thai Army Headquarters on Rachadamnoen Nok Road, Dusit Zoo, the Thai-Japan Bangkok Youth Center, Ministry of Science, Royal Thai Air Force Museum, Rama III Public Park, Bangna Youth Center, Thai Port FC, Supachalasai Stadium and the Royal Area Project 904.
According to FM91, the area around the Bureau of the Royal Household is expected to receive the largest number of visitors. At that location, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will deliver a speech to 1,800 children.
