Earlier this week, police seized THB5 million in fake cosmetic products during a raid on a Samut Prakan townhouse.
Acting on a tip-off from a local pharmacist, cops arrested six women who they found at work bottling fake cosmetic creams and liquids. The women’s 63-year-old ringleader claimed that a man named “Jo” had hired them to produce the fake products.
The National News Bureau of Thailand reports that the women seemed unaware that the products they were bottling contained unsafe chemicals. Curiously enough, they also appeared to be unfamiliar with the brand they were supposed to be imitating (“Kone”).
All six of the women were taken into custody.
