Police raid Pathum Thani warehouses suspected in massive Aussie drug bust

Thai police raided two warehouses in the Lam Luk Ka district of Pathum Thani last week that were suspected of being a transit point for drugs seized in one of Australia’s biggest busts ever.

Over USD500 million worth of crystal meth and heroin that had been shipped from Thailand in terra cotta pots were seized by Australian police in Sydney last week. It was the biggest ice haul and the third biggest heroin bust ever Down Under.

Thai police didn’t uncover a major amount of drugs at the Pathum Thani warehouses but they did find a machine for compressing bricks of marijuana with trace amounts of the drug on it. The raid was led by national police chief Gen.Pol. Priawpan Damapong.

They also questioned two employees at the warehouses. One of the men said that he had only been working there for a month and that he didn’t know what was in the warehouses but that container trucks sometimes came to pick up packages.

Police are still searching for the two owners of the warehouses and said that they are still hiding in the Lam Luk Ka area according to their mobile signals.

Gen. Pol. Priawpan Damapon said that the a team from the Narcotics Suppression department was searching for the warehouse owners and that they would be caught soon. He said that they had shipped illegal drugs in terra cotta pots to Australia twice before effectively.
