Police on the hunt buffalo calf thieves

As of this Saturday, Thai police were on the hunt for two men suspected of stealing buffalo calves from a temple in Ayutthaya.

The buffalo were born to two cows that were donated to the Tanod Teay Temple, in Ayutthaya’s Uthai District, by HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha in 2008.

Officers in charge of the investigation said that they suspected the cattle rustlers planned to sell the buffalo to a nearby slaughterhouse. Though the thieves remain at large, the Bangkok Post reports that local slaughterhouses have been warned to be on guard and report anyone who approaches them with the pilfered bovines.
