Police shot and killed a suspected drug dealer and arrested seven others at a raid in Pathum Thani’s Khlong Luang district yesterday Nov. 22.
The police recovered 786,000 ya ba pills and 46kg of crystal meth worth about THB400 million, Drug Suppression Police Chief Chaiwat Chotima said yesterday according to the Nation. The story was first reported by MCOT.
The man killed was in his 30s and known as Ton.
The gang apparently moved drugs from a rented house in Rajapruek Ville into a truck on Monday night to bring them to sell in Ayutthaya. Police Chief Chaiwat said that officers were left with no option but to start shooting when Ton drove away the vehicle after they asked to search it. The raid was initiated by an earlier sting operation by his team in Bangkok that netted two suspects, 96,000 ya ba pills, and 2kg of crystal meth.
The seven arrested suspects are Worawit Sonchimplee, 26, Sura Munon, 22; Jaturong Homthien, 18; Itthipong Taengphong, 21; Rattanyu Leungchukiat, 19; Narongchai Nimmanee, 34; and Veeradech Thantanod, 31.
