Two high-ranking government officials have been put forward as leading choices for Pheu Thai’s candidate in the Bangkok governor election next year: Information and Communication Technology Minister Anudith Nakornthap and Science and Technology Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi.
The Bangkok Post reported that many political observers believe that if Mr. Plodprasob does a good job of preventing flooding in 2012 he will have the better chance of being selected by the party.
Mr. Plodprasob will have much to improve from his performance during the flooding in 2011, when he spurred panic by calling an immediate flood alarm in Bangkok that turned out to be false.
