Pheu Thai Party nominates Ponsapat for governor

The Pheu Thai Party has finally settled on a candidate for Bangkok’s governorship—Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen.

The Bangkok Post reports that in a unanimous vote this Sunday, the Pheu Thai executive committee decided to nominate Pongsapat for the position.

The party assigned Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, a long-rumored nominee for the governorship in her own right, to lay out the party’s platform for the campaign.

Ponsapat will face incumbent Democrat governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra in the March 3 election.
