A Thai woman made a deep gouge in her wrist with a boxcutter after having a drunken argument with her Western boyfriend at a Pattaya condominium on Monday.
Police found Chutithip Sangwian, 45, lying in a pool of blood in front of the Royal Hill condominium on Phratamnak Road in Bang Lamung District of Chonburi around 5am.
Her younger farang boyfriend, whose name was not reported, was by her side giving her words of encouragement when they arrived.
Security guard Thiraphat Labut, 18, said he earlier saw Mrs Chutithip enter the condominium building.
This was not an unusual sight, as she went there every day to see the man, though on this occasion she was extremely drunk.
He then heard a loud argument coming from the man’s room on the fifth floor of the building.
The next time he saw Mrs Chutithip, she was lying on the ground outside the building with blood pouring out of her wrist.
A local rescue foundation took Mrs Chutithip to Bang Lamung Hospital.
Police believe Mrs Chutithip had fallen out with her boyfriend before getting very drunk and going to his apartment to smooth things over.
When the couple failed to settle their differences, she slit her wrist to punish the man.
