Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police have arrested Chainarong Chimnork, 29, who stands accused of using a fake online dating profile to scam women out of some THB4 million.
By using a false identity, Chainarong was able to swindle two women into “lending” him that significant sum. Chainarong claimed that he worked for the famous rock duo Assane and Wasant and that he came from a wealthy family, and would therefore have an easy time repaying the money.
Chainarong used the dating website Jubkoo.com to accomplish his underhanded seductions.
The Bangkok Post reports that as Chainarong’s scam has ben ongoing since 2007, police expect more women to come forward before the incident is over.
