Thailand’s Ombudsman has proclaimed the Royal Thai Police to be the most corrupt government institution in the country.
The Office of the Ombudsman of Thailand made the proclamation as part of its 12th anniversary proceedings.
Chief Ombudsman Panit Nitithanprapas said that complaints against the Royal Thai Police were the most common, followed by the Department of Provincial Administration. Most corruption complaints were regarding unfair concession bidding processes, she said.
Mrs. Panit announced that over the past 12 years almost 25,000 cases out of over 26,000 have been “completed,” NNT reported.
The Office of the Ombudsman of Thailand will celebrate its 12th anniversary on April 3rd at the UN Headquarters in Bangkok. Privy Council President General Prem Tinsulanonda will present awards for people with great morals.
We wonder: Will any Royal Thai Policemen be attending that ceremony?
