The Nation is reporting that three officials from the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA) have acknowledged charges from the Department of Special Investigations (DSI) accusing them of operating the BTS Skytrain illegally.
City clerk Ninnart Chalitanont, the leader of the trio, stated that he wished to acknowledge the charges before providing a formal rebuttal.
The DSI has accused the BMA of signing a contract for the operation of the Skytrain without seeking the approval of the Interior Minister. The BMA has countered that signing the agreement was well within their mandate and required no outside approval.
