New Parliament building’s price tag: THB12 billion

The House committee on parliamentary affairs has set the median bidding price for Thailand’s new parliament building at THB12 billion.

In a statement issued to the press this Thursday, Democrat MP Boonyod Sukthinthai announced that bids were being solicited for construction of the new building and that the median bid price was THB12.287 billion.

The Nation reports that land near the Kiakkai area of Nonthaburi has already been set aside for the new parliament building’s construction.

After bidding for the new building is concluded on March 28, contractors will have 900 days to construct the building itself.
