New Central mall opens at corner of Rama 9 and Ratchada

Filling a glaring absence in north central Bangkok, a new Central mall has opened on the corner of Rama 9 and Ratchada roads.

That’s right, for those who can’t be arsed to make the trek to Chitlom, Silom, Lat Phrao, Bang Na, Rama II, Rama III, Pinklao or any other locations that we forgot, the new CentralPlaza Grand Rama 9 complex opened Wednesday Dec. 14.

Billed as “the most trendy shopping complex” CentralPlaza Grand Rama 9 has a “WORK & PLAY” concept and boasts Thailand’s first Food Republic restaurant from Singapore and a second outpost of Taiwan soup dumpling legend Din Tai Fung. There’s also Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, and Thailand’s first Olympic-size skating rink. Another highlight is a gigantic Uniqlo store.

CentralPlaza Grand Rama 9 can be entered directly from the Rama 9 MRT station, so consumerists can get their shop on without being exposed to the harmful effects of the sun.
