The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has sent a warning letter to Thailand telecoms giants AIS and DTAC urging them to abide by its new service fee limit.
NBTC Secretary-General Thakorn Tantasit stated that both service operators have been found in breach of the regulation that stipulates that customers cannot be charged more than .99 baht a minute for domestic calls. A total of 99 promotional packages – 66 from AIS and 33 from DTAC – have been reported for violating the law since Jan. 1, the date that the new ceiling was effective.
Thakorn warned the two companies to adjust their rates within seven days or face prosecution.
