Nation Group will invest THB500 million over three years to expand its satellite TV business.
The conglomerate will launch at least two new stations, Krungthep Turakij and Yaowachon Channel, The Nation newspaper, which is owned by the group, reported.
Nation Group reportedly aims to boost TV advertising to 40 percent of total ad revenue by capturing audiences in all segments.
Thanachai Theerapattanavong, executive chairman of Nation Multimedia Group (NMG), said Wednesday Jan. 25 that its print business is still showing strong growth. But NMG is determined to enter new markets, especially TV which accounts for up to 60 percent of Thailand’s THB100 billion advertising market.
“The TV business is also undergoing a period of transformation with lots of opportunities,” he said.
“We are ready to produce content for all TV formats, including free TV, satellite TV and Internet TV.”
