In a statement yesterday to the Nation, US Ambassador to Thailand Kristie Kenney revealed that the US’s National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has elected to abandon Thailand as its home-base for a Southeast Asian climate change study.
“We have no plans for NASA to work in Thailand at this time,” said Kenney. “This project was moved to another country and is already completed.”
Though NASA had originally eyed Thailand’s U-t apao Naval Airbase as a staging ground for its research project, the Thai Cabinet was apparently unable to process the American organization’s request in time.
Kenney did not reveal the Southeast Asian country to which the project had fled.
