Motorbike breakdown ends in death for student

On Tuesday, a student from Pathum Thani Technology School (P-Tech) was murdered after his motorbike broke down in front of a bus stop where students from Pathum Thani Technology College (PTTC), a rival of P-Tech’s, were waiting for the bus.

An 18-year-old who had been riding with the victim (whose name was withheld because he was a minor) said that PTTC students were waiting with guns and knives.

P-Tech and PTTC have a longstanding rivalry that has periodically broken out into violence in the form of brawls, shootings and knife fights.

The Bangkok Post reports that police know the identities of the murderers and plan to place them under arrest.

UPDATE: Police have apprehended five suspects who they believe were responsible for the murder. The Bangkok Post reports that one of the alleged shooters claims the victim goaded him into attacking.
