Shortly after 12am today, police were called to the Si Mum Muang Market on outbound Phaholyothin Road in Pathum Thani to investigate reports that a man had died in the cabin of a six wheeler.
Upon their arrival, police found Sompao Krachan, a 53-year-old Petchabun local, sitting with his head down on the vehicle’s steering wheel. Namyen Kaewkrong, a 39-year-old cabbage vendor and the owner of the vehicle, said that yesterday Sompao asked her to go sleep in the car as usual.
Sompao left both side windows cracked slightly in order to allow air to circulate within the cabin. However, after Namyen sold out of her produce and returned to the car, she found that Sompao had passed away.
According to Matichon, a paramedic’s initial report revealed that Sompao might have died from lack of oxygen, precipitated by the hot weather.
