A small fire at Le Concorde Tower on Ratchada Road at noon on Friday was put out by firemen, with only one person treated for smoke inhalation.
Guests at the next door 400-room Swissotel Le Concorde were evacuated for safety, The Bangkok Post reported. The unidentified injured person was taken for treatment to Rama IX Hospital.
Bangkok’s buildings have been ablaze at a somewhat alarming rate recently. First the Fico Building caught fire near Asoke, then a blaze at the Grand Park Avenue Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 22 killed two Russian tourists. More recently a fire at an illegal hotel on Khao San Road killed a French tourist and a cooking gas cylinder explosion on Soi Rangnam injured several.
The Bangkok Post has several photos of the scene at the Concorde Tower fire.
