Last night, Chalouy Thoraksa shot a patron in the head and hip at his karaoke club Chalawan on Soi Charansanitwong in Bangkok Yai district. Chalouy claimed that the shooting was undertaken in self-defense.
Fifty-seven-year-old Chalouy told police that he had asked Wutthikrai Phimdee, 25, and his friends to leave the club after he observed the younger man ranting and fighting with his friends. Wutthikrai left but soon returned with a one-meter-long sword and attempted to attack Chalouy. Chalouy fired his gun into the air in warning, but failed to stop Wutthikrai from coming after him. Chalouy subsequently decided to shoot Wutthikrai twice, leaving him in a critical condition.
According to INN, Wutthikrai was sent to Siriraj Hospital for an emergency operation and Chalouy is being held at Thapra police station for interrogation.
