The Apple iPhone 5 will begin selling in Thailand on Nov. 2, an industry source told the Bangkok Post today.
AIS, Dtac, and TrueMove as well as authorized re-sellers will offer the new model. AIS is currently open for pre-orders but Dtac and TrueMove are not, the Post reported.
The source said that Apple sees Thailand as a priority market because of high product sales here previously, but due to “import procedures,” the iPhone 5 is going on sale here later than the US, Hong Kong, and Japan.
According to the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), prices for the iPhone 5 will remain close to those of the iPhone 4S: 22,000 baht for 16GB, THB26,000 for 32GB, and THB30,00 for 64GB.
