The Immigration Bureau has taken steps toward streamlining its visa services by launching an online queue for applying for re-entry permits.
Rather than spending time in line waiting for counter services, visa holders wishing to travel abroad while maintaining their visa status can simply go online and schedule an appointment two days in advance.
Immigration said that after using the new online service to fill in the TM.8 form, applicants will receive a reservation code with appointment date and time. Once at Immigration, applicants should go to the “Counter Service for Re-entry Permit Queue Online,” where they will receive their pre-filled form, get their photo taken, pay the re-entry permit fee and be done in less than five minutes, the website claimed.
At the time of writing, fees for single re-entry permits were THB1,000 and multiple re-entry permits were THB3,800.
