The Thai Traffic Police’s report on traffic penalties from January to November of this year showed that illegal parking ranked first in the 13-category list of traffic violations.
Pol Maj Gen Piya Tawichai told Dailynews that there were 123,782 traffic violations over the past 11 months. Piya added that police issued over 20,000 traffic tickets in June alone, the highest number of all the recorded months.
A category for complaints against taxi drivers who refused to take their fares to certain destinations was added only in June, yet received 409 cases.
