Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner involved in Phuket brawl

Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner of “Mission Impossible 4” and “The Hurt Locker” was reportedly involved in the Phuket brawl where powerful Bangkok family scion and Sri Panwa resort owner Vorasit “Plawan” Issara was stabbed.

Vorasit is currently recovering in serious condition at a Phuket hospital with serious wounds to his stomach and partially severed neck tendons, the Phuket Gazette reported.

Six of the alleged assailants have turned themselves in to the police and confessed to attacking him. They are being charged with attempted murder. The Gazette has video of the press conference with the suspects on their website.

The fight allegedly started when Vorasit dropped a glass on the floor of Ratchada nightclub in Phuket Town. One man stabbed Vorasit while the other slashed at his neck with an axe made from a motorcycle brake rotor.

Renner, who was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for “The Hurt Locker”, suffered only minor injuries in the fight.

The incident allegedly occurred at 4:30AM, well passed closing times for bars.
