Today, Krit Suriyaphol, an independent candidate in Bangkok’s gubernatorial election, submitted a complaint to the Office of the Bangkok Election Commission to protest a spate of opinion surveys that have forecast the race’s winner.
Krit bore his message on a wreath emblazoned with the slogan “Dear Leading Polls.” He took this gift to the Office, where he laid out his claim that publishing too many polls would affect the decision-making of eligible voters by bringing unnecessary attention to the two biggest candidates.
The No.20 candidate urged the Office to command poll centers to immediately stop publishing the opinion surveys.
Sunhapoj Suksrimuang, a No.6 independent candidate in the same race, said that he also filed a complaint with the Office, complaining of the appropriateness of questions listed in the survey questionnaires. According to Dailynews, Sunhapoj vowed to sue poll centers if he could prove that these polls were actually offering leading questions.
